Tire Buying & Selection FAQs
Your vehicle’s owner manual or the sticker inside the driver’s door will list your vehicle’s recommended tire size. Telle Tire’s experts can also help you find the right fit based on your driving habits and local conditions.
Common tire types include all-season, winter, summer, performance, touring, and off-road tires. Each is designed for specific driving conditions, so choosing the right type depends on where and how you drive.
Every brand offers unique benefits, so determining the best tire brand is often subjective, depending on your vehicle, driving style, and budget. At Telle Tire, we carry only trusted, top-rated brands to ensure quality, safety, and performance so you get the best tire for your needs.
All-season tires work year-round but may lose grip in extreme cold. Winter tires are specially designed for ice, snow, and freezing temperatures. If you drive regularly in harsh winter conditions, switching to winter tires for the season is recommended.

Tire Maintenance & Safety FAQs
Most tires last between 3 to 6 years, or about 40,000 to 60,000 miles, depending on driving habits, maintenance, and road conditions. Regular inspections help ensure you replace them before performance or safety is compromised.
Tires should be rotated every 6,000 to 8,000 miles, or at every oil change. Regular tire rotation helps ensure even tread wear, extending tire life and improving handling.
Tread depth refers to the grooves in your tires that provide traction. As tread wears down, your tires lose grip, especially in wet or snowy conditions. A tread depth below 2/32” is considered unsafe and would require replacement.
Uneven wear is often caused by misalignment, unbalanced tires, improper inflation, or worn suspension parts. Opting for a proper wheel alignment and balancing from Telle Tire can correct these issues and prevent future wear.
Seasonal Tire FAQs
Switch to winter tires when temperatures remain consistently below 45°F. This is when winter tires perform their best, maintaining grip and control in ice, snow, and slush. Using winter tires above these temperatures can compromise performance.
It’s not recommended. Winter tires wear out faster in warm weather and may handle poorly in dry conditions. Their rubber is specially designed for better functionality in frigid temperatures only. Learn more about proper use of winter tires in our blog.
Summer tires are designed for high performance in warm, dry, or wet conditions. If you drive a performance vehicle or want enhanced handling during warmer months summer tires could be a smart seasonal upgrade.
